I replaced the battery in my iPhone SE and in the process managed to damage the home button flex (I know, I know...). Now the button is unresponsive to physical presses, but the Touch ID still works. My question is, if I replace the flex unit, will I regain the home button functionality but lose the Touch ID? Or is there a way to get home button back and keep the touch functionality?

Touch ID replacement is always a bit of hit and miss, with some I have replaced the home button and flex and everything functions normally, but others have not. Make sure you purchase a genuine home button with touch ID and hopefully you will be ok
