Well as much as I think I know in the game of board level repair I believe we are always learning and with that in mind I am off to meet the 2 people I think and consider to be the best in this field @ ipadrehab.com Jessa and Mark Shaffer at their Practical Board Repair School in New York next month and hope to come back more knowledgeable and proficient and increase on my already pretty good success rate.

Feel free to contact me with any board level repair queries.

OK not bad for the course I guess due to what you will learn from them, ouch!  to the total, would be really interesting to have a chat once your back to see how it went, if your OK with that?

Good for you, watched quite a few of Jessa's videos, often very long! a very clever lady who knows her stuff.

hoping to hear it has been money well spent.

Only in to day 2 and has been good so far, Jessa has her own unique way of explaining things which for the beginner is awesome and I wish I had this when I started venturing in to this, I've picked up a better understanding of some things and that can only be good as it's making you think of different ways to diagnose issues, anyway I need to get back to drinking and wind down before getting some sleep so I'm ready for class in the morning

Fantastic course, learned a lot and some of it still sinking in, sex toy mini solved as well lol.

If you're considering it then it's money well spent.

Great to hear you enjoyed and learned.  I will attend 1 day when I get time.  All my life Ive had time and no money, im the opposite now lol.  LMAO sex toy mini, good to diversify.  You could corner the uk market in that area lol.  You were a great tech before, you must be awsome now.  What were the main learning outcomes that you didnt know before?

I'd say better use of the bench supply for diagnosis and a different way of thinking for problem solving and off course a masterclass from mark shaffer on lsd, that man has an eagle eye and had me do a trace repair on a nand chip that I wrote off as fooked, I ran the trace and nand was fully functional, some little tweaks here and there, I believe I've left the course with a lot more than I expected to, oh and the sex toy mini is just an iPad mini but it makes a lot more sense if you do the course

I’ve also looked into doing this as I’m quite a newbie on the microsoldering and diagnostics front.

I did a course back in 2006 on repairing mobiles, things have changed a lot!

its the travel cost that does it. Would be good though and also a great opportunity. Maybe next year 😂

I've been doing board repair for a couple of years but it was still good to go and find that you are always learning, it is costly I agree but I also think it will pay itself in no time with a higher success rate
