I Have a water damaged device that i have managed to get to turn on again, however when it is plugged into itunes it shows the value is missing so cannot connect to itunes

Any idea ? no Value.jpg
I have changed the dock port also thinking it could be this and has made no difference, is this something that can be fixed ?

Ok so ITunes sees the device as an IPhone but can't recognise it beyond that.
Very hard to give meaningful advice but there is definitely  data line problem(s) on the board.

What have you done so far to get the IPhone back into a working state and are all other functions operational?

ultimately the board will require inspection and diagnostics and the problem may lie down to a blown components, short circuit or corrosion

Did you remove all the shields before putting through the cleaner? If not then it's a waste of time as the cleaner will not work under the shields effectively. Ipa is not recommended for use in an ultrasonic cleaner as there is an extremely high risk of the fumes from the IPA igniting.
There are specialist cleaning fluids available for  board cleaning which are inflammable and if used in a quality cleaner can do a very good job.
If the board has been cleaned properly (with shields removed ) then you have board damage/component failure which may or may not be terminal and the board will need diagnosing to find where the fault lies.

Hi The Micro Guys Ltd.

Noiced you talking about ultra sonic cleaners and I totally agree you have to remove the shielding to have effective results.  One question though, what cleaner do you use in your ultra sonic bath?
