Hi i bought a full lcd and digitiser from replacebase fitted it no problem but now my touch screen is hit and miss sometimes its ok and the next it freezes momentarily then starts to work again and others its like it needs calibrating. Is there anything i should try? Ive checked whether the cables are seated correctly and they are and there is no damage to the ribbon cable. Thanks in advance.

Haven't had the opportunity to work on the Iphone 7+ but if the touch was working on the original screen then swap it back over and see if the issue persists.
You also have to consider that whatever caused the original screen to break in the first place could also have caused internal damage to the logic board. ie a hard drop.
I assume you have removed the protective screen cover from the new screen?

Sorry I can't offer anything more helpful.

Firstly thanks for your reply. Yes i have removed the protective film on the screen. I cant try the old screen it doesnt work at all. Before I attempted to change the front glass on the original screen it was working perfect although it had a spider web crack on the screen.

Thanks again.

Ok so if you're confident you haven't caused any pry damage while removing the connectors then it sounds like the fault lies in the screen.
I would try hard resetting the phone - hold power button and volume down at the same time until apple logo appears, although I don't think that will change anything tbh.

Contact RB and tell them the problems you're having and the phone was working fine before the swap. They are pretty helpful and will probably exchange it for you.

Thanks again.

Im rather confident its nothing internal or connector problems.

The phone has had a full reset erased everything and set up as a new iphone. No change.

The problem is only tempremental as it can work fine for a while then just randomly starts doing what it wants then goes back to normal. It's like something is pushing on the screen in 2 places at the same time. Could something be putting pressure on the back of the screen maybe causing this problem?

If not I will contact RB.

Yes, but that would most likely be inside the screen makeup or cable damage, no reason why the iphone itself should be causing pressure on the screen.
Have you tried just plugging in the digitiser/lcd cables. Think they're the two lower ones. Leave the cable clamp off. Again, not expecting this to really achieve anything, but just ruling out all possibilities will leave the one conclusion that the display is faulty.

Yes ive unplugged and plugged them back in checked they're aligned properly pressed down on the plug to make sure its getting connection and it still the same. Unfortunatly it sounds like a faulty display[frown]

I think that sounds like a problem with the screen bonding.
Definately a screen issue if you have narrowed it down to that area.

I think there's a bit more than just the keyboard popping up 😀

Not surprised. Took me forever to place an order today

Did you speak replace about it. I think you're going to have to. They are usually pretty good at swapping if you're not happy.
You need to rule out this being a screen issue and from everything you've said so far i suspect that it is.

I have just sent an email off to the sales email. See what they say to try before they replace.
