Steve
Hi all

Just wanted to clarify a few things about the new iPad

Apple (thanks Apple!) have made this a little tricky with naming.

previously most companies (including us) classed / called the iPad Air the iPad Air / iPad 5th Generation / iPad 5.

Now that the "iPad 2017" is in the picture Apple are actually officially classing this as the 5th generation iPad.

going forward we will no longer be referring to the iPad Air as the iPad 5 or iPad 5th generation on our website.

Also, while we are on the topic some parts are cross compatible,

Confirmed compatible parts are:

  • LCD screen (now makes sense for the shortage of these panels recently in the market as they have been used in production!)
  • Digitizers (minus the assembly with home button)
  • Dock ports
  • Adhesives
  • Speakers (left and right)

Confirmed non compatible parts:

  • Home button (as these now have touch ID)
  • Headphone jack
  • Power / mute flex
  • Battery

We are in the process of adding dedicated iPad 2017 parts fight now so keep an eye out on the site.

If you need to add anything please do so below, i will also update as more info is received.

Cheers

Steve

In tech talk the 5th gen iPad is known as Ipad6.xx
latest iPad Pro is iPad7.xx

Just another of the many ways Apple like to muddy the water!!

Does the iPad Pro and iPad 2017 have the LCD and digitiser laminated all in one unit like the iPad Air 2 or separate parts?

Hi

The LCD are compatible as mentioned, we have not had any reported issues with these, either not compatible or the brightness
