You may have already heard that Ap ple uses two different modem chips in the iPone X. It depends on the carrier and the market.

Cellular Insights conducted extensive tests with the iPone X to find out which LTE modem is faster, tests showed that the
Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 modem version is still faster than Intel.

If you're curious to know if the iPone X model has a faster Qualcomm modem or Intel model - how to find out

iPone X A1865 model: Ap pl e uses the Qualcomm MDM9655 Snapdragon X16 LTE modem in the A1865 model for CDMA carriers
(Verizon, Sprint) in the US, Australia, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand.

iPone X A1902 model: Ap pl e also uses the Qualcomm MDM9655 Snapdragon X16 LTE modem in the A1902 model for Japan

iPone X A1901 model: iPhone X Apple uses the Intel XMM 7480 modem in the A1901 model for GSM carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile)
in the US, Canada, Europe, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Phillippines, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Argentina, Russia, and Mexico.

The truth is not so crazy, but

Most consumers will feel the difference in very weak signal conditions,
where every dBm of signal matters, so we zoomed in on that in the chart below.
At very weak signal strength, below -120dBm, the Qualcomm modem got speeds on average 67 percent faster than the Intel modem.
The Intel modem finally died at -129dBm and the Qualcomm modem died at -130dBm, so we didn’t find a lot of difference in when the modems finally gave out.

The Qualcomm-equipped iPone X is available from Verizon Wireless and Sprint, while the Intel-based iPone X is available from AT&T
and T-Mobile  in the United States. Ap ple sells two variants of the iPone X in every region except in Japan.
