I'm looking for a way to recover data from a Samsung S6 with a smashed screen. Customer wants the data but doesn't want the screen fixed. Iv been looking at jtag and chip off readers but does anyone have any experience in this area?
Thanks im advance

Hi

is the screen visible?

If the screen still displays but the touch is unusable (or partially unusable), then connect a mouse using a otg cable. Use the mouse to unlock the screen, turn on usb debugging and turn off the screen lock. Now you should be able to connect the phone to a PC and get the data off.

Regards

Hi,
I have had a similar experience in the past except with a galaxy S5 mini the customer did not want to go ahead.

to over come this I flashed TWRP on the phone using ODIN (I believe) then once you boot into recovery you can plug it into a computer and retrieve all data. to retrieve contacts you can use some ADB commands to retrieve the database then I used some software to convert it into Vcard

***Warning***
As always there is a risk of losing data but if you have no more options it is worth the risk

Hi,

Old I know but with a recent S6 I disconnected the battery and then whilst connected to the PC
press and hold 3 buttons: Volume up (NOT volume down), Home, and Power buttons.
The phone entered download mode and the pc was able to see the phone and grab its files from there.
