Steve
Hi all,

Just come across this, would you be tempted?

We can now run unsigned code on all iPhones from 4S up until the iPhone X with a Boot ROM Exploit.
What is a Boot ROM Exploit?
The Boot ROM (called "SecureROM" by Apple) is the first significant code that runs on an iDevice. The bootrom is read-only. Finding exploits in the bootrom level is a big achievement since Apple won't be able to fix it without a hardware revision.
The newly announced iOS device exploit dubbed "checkm8" by security researcher axi0mX who discovered it is a bootrom vulnerability that could give developers deep access to iOS devices where Apple would be unable to block or patch with a future software update.
What does this mean?
This could lead to:
  • Permanently jailbroken devices
  • Dual booting multiple versions of iOS
  • Run Android or other mobile device OSs
  • Data recovery from disabled devices
